Intimate Family Sessions

Family sessions are so meaningful, as they document your growing family over the years. How many times have you said to yourself 'I need to get some updated photos'?! Am I right, or am I right? It's a great excuse to bring your family together. I typically recommend planning a short activity such as a walk at the beach, apple picking, or building a snowman.

I approach family sessions the same way I do weddings - with a candid nature, leveraging natural light and earthy settings. This session is geared towards capturing your immediate family in a more intimate setting. We'll have more time to focus on you and the kids to capture a variety of candid and gently posed moments.

Included in this session is a personalized online gallery with access to downloadable images.

$400 for a 1 hour session

Extended Family Sessions

Family sessions are so meaningful, as they document your growing family over the years. On those rare occasions, you have the whole gang together - grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. and would love to document this special occasion. Maybe you've rented an AirBnb or are on a family camping trip. It's a great reason to book some time to capture your extended family together.

I approach family sessions the same way I do weddings - with a candid nature, leveraging natural light and earthy settings. Since these sessions include more people, the focus will be on more 'formal' group shots, capturing a good mix of the group.

Included in this session is a personalized online gallery with access to downloadable images.

Family Albums

Custom family albums are a great way to have your images printed and protected. They are an heirloom piece for you and your family to enjoy for generations and are perfect for gifting. There are two options to choose from, so let's chat more about budget, style and how you envision this keepsake.

Albums can be added to your family package at the time of booking, or purchased as an add-on after final images are delivered.

HAVE A QUESTION? get in touch if you have more to ask!

Q: How would you describe your photography style in a few words?

A:  My approach to photography is photojournalistic in nature. I strive to document your family in an unscripted way, leveraging natural light and earthy settings. Capturing moments as they happen organically, and emotions and interactions that are a genuine reflection of each family member. I am also drawn to wide angle horizons and black and white images.

Q: What kind of experience can we expect when working with you?

A: Fun and easygoing! Let's face it, most people are uncomfortable in front of the camera. I always tell those I am photographing that it will likely be awkward at first, but after some guidance, we'll get into a groove and you'll be a natural in no time. My goal is to capture your family as they are - don't stress about perfection as no family is. Instead, focus on connecting with each other and your surroundings because the results will be magical.

Q: What should we plan to wear for our family session?

A: I always tell families to dress the way you feel most comfortable. Opt for neutrals or coordinating colour schemes if you prefer. Ideally, avoid any big logos or loud graphics as these can be distracting. Also consider dressing appropriately if you decide on a particular activity.

Q: What should we do if the kids are out of control during our session? (I swear, they're normally angels!)

A: Honestly, it's ok. Let the kids be kids. I'll do my best to get a few formal group shots, but otherwise just go with the flow! Rather than letting it stress you out, embrace their wild spirits and join in the play. I promise the love and connection will outshine messy hair and grass-stained knees.

Q: Our session starts at 4pm, what time should we arrive?

A: Plan to show up about 15 minutes ahead to make sure the gang is ready to go. This allows us to maximize the time spent on taking photos vs. final touches on outfits.

Q: I'd rather have most images be of my kids since I don't like photos of me. Can you focus on them?

A: These type of questions break my heart a little each time I hear them. There are a million and one reasons why you might not feel you look your best, but that doesn't matter. What matters is you've booked me to document your family - and that includes you! I promise that everyone else sees you in a positive, glowing light - especially your kids. One day you'll look back on these images and be so grateful you participated wholeheartedly.
