PHOTOGRAPHY FOR ARTISANS, MAKERS & DOERS

Branding your business goes beyond a logo, and in our digitally-dominated world it's so important to grab the attention of potential customers from the moment they land on your website, follow you on social media or pick up your business card. Through a photojournalistic approach with some styled elements, the goal is to capture your space, the processes, the materials and the people - each of the elements that make your business authentic.

This is not your typical editorial or product shoot, as I approach photography with a much more natural and organic feeling that best reflects you and your offering. It's important for me to capture your passion with a balance of candid and styled images, ultimately creating imagery that will connect and resonate with your customers.

Why? You're amazing at your craft, but beyond wielding an iPhone, visually telling your brand story may not be your strongest game. Maybe you need a complete overhaul, or a simple refresh. Either way, a little extra care and polish goes a long way to showing off your business to the world.

Kind Words

"Jenny is such a pleasure to work with! She is professional, organized, timely and super talented. She took pictures for a private floral workshop that I had organized and spent the day documenting all of it. We were so thrilled with the photos we received! Would absolutely recommend working with Jenny!" ~ Kristina, Minim Designs

HAVE A QUESTION? get in touch if you have more to ask!

Q: How would you describe your photography style in a few words?

A: My approach to photography is photojournalistic in nature. With lifestyle sessions like these, there is a balance between candid moments and styled elements. Some shots will be staged and positioned just so, while others will be in the moment - capturing movement and context, such as you at work in your space. My imagery is typically clean and simple and edited with a modern look in mind.

Q: Where does my lifestyle session take place?

A: The best location for your lifestyle session to take place is where you create - your studio, shop, venue, brewery, inn, etc. I'll come to you.

Q: Do you bring studio lighting with you?

A: While I do have a means to fill light in darker spaces, my style is to leverage natural light as much as possble. To me, using natural light is the best reflection of your setting. In some situations, we may need to use artificial light, but I am not a mobile studio.

Q: What should I prepare for my lifestyle session?

A: Upon booking your lifestyle session, I'll provide you with a brief questionnaire to fill out that will help to plan the concept, a timeline and shot list. On the day of your session, the expectation is that your space will be cleaned and all styling elements will be gathered/prepared in advance (as much as possible). The better prepared we are going into this session, the more efficient we can be with use of time.

Q: How many images will I receive? Are there additional charges beyond the session fee?

A: As each lifestyle session is unique, the number of images delivered will vary. I do not cap the amount of images I provide, so long as they meet my quality and artistic standards. Included in the price is access to download the full gallery in both high resolution and web size files. There are no additional charges for downloads.

Q: How do I give proper photo credit?

A: Where possible, giving credit to Jenny Thompson Photography is expected, or tagging @jennythompsonco on social media. You will receive a personal use release which allows you to use your images for your business only in both print and digital. Images may not be re-sold.
